Settlers of Catan is an innovative multiplayer board game designed by Klaus Teuber. It was first published in 1995 in Germany by Franckh-Kosmos Verlags (Kosmos) under the name Die Siedler von Catan.

To date, there are more than 15 million set of Catan series have been sold all over the world. The game has been translated to over thirty languages from its original language, German.

The game has become so popular because of it's relatively simple to play, and it's dynamics are quite complex. Settlers of Catan well suited for family to play, since there are no one gets eliminated. Players who are behind can strive towards goals that are withing their reach
